My name is Ben Cox and I began my studies of Chinese medicine in 2002 becoming a fully insured member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2007.

A graduate of the five-year Traditional Chinese Medicine degree run jointly by Middlesex University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Iā€™m qualified to provide acupuncture, herbal medicine and traditional lifestyle advice including nutrition. The final clinical phase of the course involved work placements in Beijing, London and NHS pain clinics; during this time I also trained in Chinese medical massage completing a four month diploma.

Since graduating I have continued to deepen my working knowledge with several highly skilled practitioners, most significantly through a two year seminar series on acupuncture and massage with Andrew Nugent-Head and ongoing training in massage with Bruce Frantzis and his long term student Bill Ryan since 2005.

These two major teachers spent many years living in China studying with highly skilled Chinese medical practitioners through traditional apprenticeships. I have also taken some additional specialist courses on Chinese massage for traumatic injuries.

What drew me to the study of Chinese Medicine was a love of Taichi, Qigong and meditation, which I have practiced for nearly 20 years with several well known teachers in the field. I run classes and workshops in Oxford in addition to coordinating and teaching the Qigong module at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading; one of the largest acupuncture colleges in Britain. For a more detailed overview of my studies see here.
